COMMUNITY PROJECTS

We support and promote local events and all our holiday activities and workshops via our FB page such as the welcome back event, community park picnics, easter egg hunts, food banks, recycle unwanted school uniform promoting and participating in litter picks, contributing towards ideas and building a better en-vironment for us to live in.

We train and place young people ready to volunteer in the community to gain much needed experience for college or employment. We help them find the right pathway to move on in life.

We are an approved HSE First Aid deliverer and offer affordable courses to both individuals and Corporate groups.

FOREST SCHOOL

Forest school s an outdoor education process that allows children to develop themselves through healthy engagement with risk, problem-solving and self-discovery, all within a natural environment in a hands-on and playful manner.

Children will undertake activities in local woodland areas that will develop skills, understanding and knowledge of the environmental issues and gain self-confidence and resilience

Develop Outdoors has four Forest School accredited staff to deliver the programmes there are volunteering opportunities available for parents and members of the community who would like to become involved.

Our Forest School is an inclusive community, where everyone is valued. It’s an opportunity to reconnect with nature and build relationships with each other and nature itself (as well as have fun in the great outdoors!)

We are currently in discussion with local schools about them being able to access this programme as part of their pupil enrichment offer. This service will be funded through paid places, with a number of low-cost or free places being available for residents on low incomes.

DIGITAL NATURE TRIAL

We are excited to share that we are working in partnership with Sussex Community Foundation, Telscombe Town Council, Friendly Fox and have secured funding for a digital nature trail and animation workshops to be co-designed with local young people and fitted into Chatsworth Park.

Develop Outdoors is accredited to deliver first aid training. We can provide the short 1 day Emergency First Aid, the 2 or 3 day First Aid at work and the Paediatric First Aid course which is needed when working with children.
We are able to travel to your offices, schools or hire a venue to facilitate this training to ensure employees have up to date knowledge to maintain safety standards in the workplace or to groups of volunteers or parents that want to put their mind at rest knowing how to deal with an emergency.

HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES

Sports/Football

Here at Develop Outdoors we have several staff who are qualified at level 1 & 2 in many sports, who have plenty of coaching and playing experience. We even have a Football coach who is an ex-Lioness who also played for Arsenal on the coaching team.  We all coach at clubs within Peacehaven and Telscombe and are able to sign post young people to teams within the town or the coastal strip.

We want to offer more than just our holiday sessions and start to build up the afterschool’s clubs, some girls only sessions and the Neurodiverse activity clubs. There is a need for affordable activities without the cost of a signup fee and regular direct debits to be able to participate.

We want for young people to just get active, be able to try new sports, make friends whilst having fun. We all know that physical activity improves the mind and leaves you feeling happier and energised when doing it in a safe fun environment.

One of our aims is to attract further funding to be able to offer this in the community at affordable prices. We will post any new sessions on our FB page for you to book onto
