1:1 Life Skills Coach/Tutor
£17.50 – £22.00 per hour dependent on skills & experience (Self Employed)
Part-time up to 4 days per week (9.30am-2.30pm – 5 hour delivery session plus 1 hour planning time)

Job Description

Day to day tasks (working 1:1 with a young person)
- Supporting young people age 11-16 year
- Supporting young people with SEMH
- Plan and deliver individual activity programmes using learning programmes and units of works (including Maths and English where appropriate)
- Set achievable goals to enable young people to succeed in their learning and track their progress
- Encourage young people to engage in new one-to-one activities to enhance their learning and future pathways.
- To liaise with young people and their appropriate carers/family/schools
- To register daily attendance
- To deal promptly with any incidents and promote good behaviour. Report and document any incidents to the appropriate members in the Develop Outdoors Team
- To keep confidential records re: to write and submit daily reports for young people and termly report writing
Essential Skills
- Enhanced DBS
- Level 3 Qualification or equivalence Teaching Qualification in Teaching, Coaching, Youthwork
- Full driving licence and vehicle – with Business Insurance cover (Tutors will need to collect 1:1 students from home/agreed collection point and return at the end of the session)
- Flexibility to travel to learning venues (within East Sussex)
Desirable
- Willing to work towards a Level 3 or above Teaching Qualification
- SEND or SEMH experience
