The WorkSafe Emergency First Aid at Work programme meets the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive for first aiders working in low risk environments (e.g. offices, shops, residential care settings etc)
The content covers the essentials required to provide emergency care to a patient. Candidates will receive training in a range of first aid skills including:
The ability to act safely and effectively when an accident or emergency occurs
The treatment and priorities of care for an unconscious patient
The recognition of cardiac arrest and delivery of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
The ability to safely and promptly treat a patient who is bleeding
The ability to recognise and treat a patient who is choking
The keeping of simple records following an accident at work
The recognition and treatment of a person in seizure
The ability to recognise and treat a patient in shock

Successful candidates will be awarded a qualification in Emergency First Aid at Work, valid for 3 years and certified by WorkSafe Training Systems.
The Emergency First Aid Course is also suitable for Key Stage 4 and 5 students to complete and can be delivered by our qualified instructor in school premises.
