Pet & Animal Care

Key Stage 3 & 4 | 36 weeks, 1 day per week (Wednesdays)

Course Summary

This nurture group programme is aimed at giving students the confidence and an introductory experience to working with animals.

Who Is It For?

Our Pet & Animal course is for young people aged 13+ who would like to experience working with animals. From visiting farms and zoos, to vocational placements – this course will allow learners to gain a range of different experience working with lots of different creatures.


Students will work in a small group setting (4-6 students) supported by two Tutors.

What's Included?

Students will complete a Level 1 Diploma in Learning, Employability and Progression. The course will feature:

  • Level 1 Diploma in Animal Care
  • Educational visits to local animal centres and farms
  • Hands-on experience working with and handling animals
  • AQA Certification
  • ICT skills
  • Teamwork
  • First Aid at Work Certificate
  • PSHE
  • Support with college applications and visits (where appropriate)
